Olympus announces the E-620

Wow, what a pretty little camera! Olympus combines the best of the E-420 (Size & portability), E-520 (Image Stabilisation) and E-30 (Features & technology), and came out with this little winner.

Olympus E-620 Features & Specifications

At PMA 2009, it attracted many attention and raised eyebrows. I jumped onto the DSLR wagon and invested in the 4/3 system some time ago, and I guess there is finally light at the end of the tunnel with Olympus' continued commitment to the 4/3 system.

Damn, now I regret getting the E-520 in December :(

Some updates...
Go 2 IT show 2day. Saw the E-30 going for a hundred more then MSC. Head down 2 MSC then saw the panny 45-200 at last... After some tot hold back on E-30 and bought the panny lens instead... But i dun think for long... hehehe.

Met a nice Japanese gentleman at Olympus booth. Told me the PQ of E-30 are certainly better then E-620. The 12-60 potential will be put to better use on E-30 then E620... Price diff won't be that much too at most few hundred bucks... But you get better PQ and more useful function... Think i will still get the E-30 instead of E620...
But... wow E-30 with 12-30 is big and heavy... but not uncomfortable.

Yes, the 12-60mm is an excellent lens!! Sharpness, handling etc is superb, typical Zuiko quality. You won't regret.

The bulk of the E-30 is what has been holding me back... I like my camera to be small and discreet, so the E-420 & E-520 suits me perfectly, and the E-620 is the best of both worlds.

Will have to wait for the final firmware to determine the image quality, but I don't think the E-620 will be far behind the E-3 or E-30.

Perhaps not too far...maybe better high ISO tweak...

Trust me looking down at the articulated lcd instead of thru the viewfinder make a whole lot of difference... Naturally more discreet... kekeke

The Jap Olympus rep also mentioned E-30 is not a easy camera to use. If you simply switch to A mode, point n shoot, you will be better off buying a Canon or Nikon. Get to know the cam and you get very professional result... He pointed to those enlarge photos on display... Unfortunately it very crowded and i had to end the conv here else can pick up more from him... Haizz

Wait... There seem to be 1 more myst cam in rumors... Doesn't seem to be the M4/3 "rangefinder" but another... Scarely is E-3 replacement!!! or another full function M4/3 or 4/3 with video func... Hmm getting interesting...

The E-3 replacement will probably be announce towards the end of the year, and to be available next year.

For me, all I need is the E-620 :P

You have anyone who want to buy a E-420?
